When enabled, Decision Maker Connect makes all SMS messages sent to contacts linked with a deal visible in the deal record. This helps you keep track of every conversation between key decision makers and your team members involved in the deal.
Enable Decision Maker Connect
Decision Maker Connect is deactivated by default. To enable it:
- Log in to Zoho CRM.
- From the left-side navigation, click on the Marketplace icon.
- Under Marketplace, click on the Installed tab.
- Locate Sinch SMS for Zoho and click on Configure.
- Click on the Advanced Settings tab.
- Click on the Decision Maker Connect tab.
- Configure the settings:
- Check the box for Retrieve messages for linked records (uses extra API calls)
If applicable, check the box for Auto fetch data for contact roles (in deals)
Note: If you're not using contact roles in the Deals module, don't check this box as it uses extra API calls if you do.
- If applicable, check the box for Link messages sent to Deals to associated contact automatically
- Click the Save button.
Use Decision Maker Connect
Assigning key contacts
Once Decision Maker Connect has been enabled, you can assign the key contacts to your deals to capture the associated SMS messages. To do this:
- Click into the deal.
- Under the Related List section, click on Contact Roles.
Click Add Contact Roles to add a new contact or Edit All to update existing contacts.
You can select the role for each contact.
- Click the Save button to confirm.
Note: If you're using Contact Roles in the Deals module, you need to make sure you've checked the box for Auto fetch data for contact roles (in Deals) in the Decision Maker Connect settings.
Filtering messages
To view all the SMS conversations for a deal:
- Open the deal.
- Scroll down to the Sinch SMS section.
Click on the person icon.
This opens a list of contact records linked to the deal. Click on a name to switch between conversations.
