In the U.S. and Canada, all Toll-Free Numbers (TFNs) must be verified to avoid strict sending restrictions that can block message delivery. During your free trial, you'll use one of Sinch MessageMedia's pre-registered sending numbers while trialling the product.
TFN verification during your free trial
While on a free trial, you'll be assigned one of Sinch MessageMedia's pre-verified TFNs. This number is set up specifically for sending test messages to yourself so you can explore the platform's features and experience the entire messaging flow.
Add TFN to your account
When you upgrade to a paid account, the pre-verified TFN that's allocated for the trial is removed.
You'll be prompted to select which number type you want to configure on your account:
- Toll free number: By choosing TFN as preferred number type, you'll automatically be issued a new unverified TFN. You can follow the Toll-Free Number (TFN) verification process to get it verified.

Local number (10DLC): By selecting local number as preferred number type, you'll be able to choose the local number on the numbers page (or navigate to Settings and then Numbers). You can follow the process on-screen to get it verified. If you're having trouble requesting a new dedicated number in the Sinch MessageMedia platform, you can contact support.
Note: U.S. customers can only upgrade to a post-paid account. Pre-paid accounts are not available.
