Sinch SMS for Salesforce supports the use of multiple Sinch MessageMedia accounts. Sub-accounts in the Sinch MessageMedia platform can be added to Sinch SMS for Salesforce e.g. you may have different phone numbers and Sinch MessageMedia sub-accounts dedicated to your sales, marketing and support teams. Adding sub-accounts in Sinch SMS for Salesforce allows messages and templates to be organized based on the account they're related to.
Note: The 'Company Default' account is the main account connected in the Setup & Configuration tab of the Sinch SMS for Salesforce application.
We don't recommend adding the Company Default account as a sub-account.
Add and manage sub-accounts
- Make sure you're logged in to your Sinch MessageMedia account so you can connect your existing sub-accounts easily.
- From the Sinch SMS for Salesforce app, navigate to the Account Manager tab.
- Click on the Connect Account button.
- You'll be redirected to the account connector page which shows a list of your available accounts and sub-accounts. Click Connect on the Sinch MessageMedia account you want to connect to Salesforce.
-
The Account Name field will automatically populate with the Sinch MessageMedia account ID. You can delete this and enter a new name to help users easily identify the account. This will be seen by internal users and used in other settings e.g. default account for users - we recommend using something descriptive e.g. Sales.
- Click Save Account(s).
- Repeat the steps for each sub-account as required.
Add and manage sub-accounts | Legacy UI onboarding configuration
Follow these instructions if your version of Sinch SMS for Salesforce has legacy configuration settings.
- Log in to the Sinch MessageMedia platform.
- Use the account switcher to select the sub-account you want to connect to Sinch SMS for Salesforce.
-
Navigate to the API Settings page and create a new set of REST Basic API credentials.
After you copy the API Key and secret pair to the clipboard, paste them somewhere you can easily retrieve as you'll need it for the next step.
Note: This is the only time the Sinch MessageMedia platform will display the API Secret. We recommend saving it somewhere safe if you're not planning to use it right away. If you lose the API Secret, you'll need to create a new key/secret pair.
- From the Sinch SMS for Salesforce app, navigate to the Account Manager tab.
-
Click on Add Account and enter the details to connect your sub-account.
- Account Name: This will be seen by internal users and used in other settings e.g. default account for users - we recommend using something descriptive e.g. Sales.
- REST username: Paste the API Key.
- REST password: Paste the API Secret.
- Enable Webhook: Un-check this box.
- Click on the Save Account(s) button.
- After the account has been saved, check the Enable Webhook box.
- Click on the Add Account button and repeat the steps for each sub-account as required.
