You can set up the SMS for Zoho CRM extension to work with custom modules.
Set up for custom modules
- Log in to Zoho CRM.
- From the left-side navigation, click on the ⚙️Setup icon.
- Under the Developer Hub section, click on APIS and SDKs.
- Click on API names.

Find the API name for your custom module.
Note: The custom module API name must end with 's' e.g. 'Purchases' not 'Purchase'.

Click on the custom module and find the API name for the phone number field in that module (middle column) e.g. the API name for Phone 1 is Phone_1.
- From the left-side navigation, click on the Marketplace icon and then Installed.
- Locate Sinch SMS for Zoho and then click Configure.
- Click on the Advanced Settings tab.
- Click on the Custom Modules tab.

Enter the API name for the custom module in the Custom Modules to use with the extension field. You can have multiple custom modules added.
- Click on the Save button.
- Click on the Field Settings tab.

Put the API name for the phone number field in the Extra fields to use for phone numbers field. You can have multiple custom API names added.
- Click on the Save button.
- From the left-side navigation, click on the ⚙️Setup icon.
- Under the Developer Hub section, click on Widgets.
- Click on the Create New Widget button.
- Configure the fields in the pop-up window:
- Name: Enter a name to identify the widget e.g. custom module name followed by Sinch SMS for Zoho
- (Optional) Description: Enter a description of the widget
- Type: Select Related List
- Hosting: Select External

Base URL: https://crm-extension.zoho.messagemedia.io/latest/index.html
- Click on the Save button.
- Click on the Create New Widget button.

Configure the fields in the pop-up window:
- Name: Enter a name to identify the widget e.g. custom module name followed by Button
- (Optional) Description: Enter a description of the widget
- Type: Select Button
- Hosting: Select External
- Base URL: https://crm-extension.zoho.messagemedia.io/latest/index.html
- Click on the Save button.
- Under the Customization section, click Modules and Fields.
- Click on your custom module.
- Click on the Buttons tab.
- Click on Create New Button.
- Configure the fields:
- Button Name: Enter a name for the button e.g. Send Bulk Sinch Message
- Define action: Select Open a Widget
- Select Page: Select In List
- Select Position: Select Mass Action Menu
- Configured Widget: Select Widget created in the previous step 19 e.g. Custom Mod Sinch SMS for Zoho

Select Profile(s): Select which profiles will have access to the custom button
- Click on the Save button.
- Click on Create New Button.
- Configure the fields:
- Button Name: Enter a name for the button e.g. Send Sinch Message
- Define action: Select Open a Widget
- Select Page: Select In Record
- Select Position: Select Details
- Select Layout(s): Select Standard
- Configured Widget: Select the Widget created in the previous step 22 eg Custom Mod Button

Select Profile(s): Select which profiles will have access to the custom button
- Click on the Save button.
- Within Sinch Messages module, click on the Layouts tab..

Click on Standard.
- Add a new lookup field. If you don't have any spare lookup fields available, you can use a single line field. Make sure the field label is set correctly.

Field Label: Field Label: ${Custom Module API Name} without the final character +Name
- e.g. if the module API name is 'Patients', the field name should be 'PatientName'

e.g. if the module API name is Patient, it should be PatienName (leave off the final character)
Note: The name must be correct otherwise it won't work correctly.
- Related List Title: Sinch Messages

Field Label: Field Label: ${Custom Module API Name} without the final character +Name
- From the left-side navigation, click on Modules and then on your custom module to test out the button.
- Open a custom module record.

Click on Add Related List on the left-hand side.
- In the pop-up window, click Widgets.
- Install your custom widget.
- Name the custom related list e.g. Sinch Messenger and click on the Save button.
- Test the new widget - it would work with inbound and outbound messages.
- Add these fields to the custom module:
- Last Time They Replied To Message: Date Time field
- They send an SMS and we haven't replied: Checkbox
