Message templates help you save time and keep your communications consistent. Templates are ideal when you send the same type of message to multiple contacts e.g. appointment reminders. Using templates also helps reduce errors and keeps your messaging on brand.
Create SMS template
To set up an SMS template:
- Log in and access the SMS for Dynamics app.
- From the left-side navigation menu, click Templates.
Click the + New button to create a new template. There are no limits to the number of templates you can create.
Configure your template:
- Name: Enter a name for the template.
- Targeted At: Select the record type for the template e.g. Accounts, Contacts, Leads, Users. This needs to be selected due to personalization options.
- Message: Configure your message. You can add personalisation by clicking Insert Field. Ensure the fields you add to your message have data in them in the contact profile.
- When you're ready, click the Save & Close button in the top navigation bar to save the template.
Edit or delete SMS template
To edit or delete a SMS template:
- Log in and access the SMS for Dynamics app.
- From the left-side navigation menu, click Templates.
- Locate the template name you want to make changes to and check the box.
- Click the Edit or Delete button in the top navigation bar.
Note: Before deleting a template, make sure there are no workflows still using the template.
