Sinch SMS for Salesforce lets you cloak an outbound message. Your message appears to come from the sender's own mobile number instead of a Sinch MessageMedia number. The cloaking functionality can be used for user override, manually and via a template. This feature helps personalize your customer experience by making messages feel more direct and familiar.
Cloaking
- Cloaking is not supported for destinations with a +1 country code (United States and Canada)
- When cloaking is active, responses will go directly to the cloaked number, not to Salesforce.
- To enable cloaking, set Enable Cloaking = TRUE in the Setup & Configuration tab. You'll also need to contact our customer support team to request that the feature be activated on your account.
- When sending to a List View selection of records, you can only cloak messages as the Sender (the user sending the message).
User override
The Cloak SMS Messages field on the User object allows you to cloak all messages sent from the User. When the field is set to TRUE, all outbound messages sent by the User will be cloaked to come from the Mobile number specified on their User record.
Manual
When sending a message manually, the User can specify whether they want to cloak the message with the Cloak User field. Users can choose to cloak using their own Mobile as the Sender or the Mobile of the Owner.
Cloaking isn't an option when sending a message from the Message Feed.
Template
When creating templates, the User can specify whether they should be cloaked as the Sender or the Owner in the Cloak Using field. This cloaking setting will only apply when a template is being sent via automation i.e. Flow.
Using a template manually will require the cloaking setting to be specified at the time of sending the message.
