Onboarding and setup experience uplift
Getting started with Sinch SMS for Dynamics is now easier than ever. We've simplified the onboarding and setup into a quick 4-step process, so both new and existing customers can get up and running faster.
New and existing customers can select the Integrating API based on their region:
- APAC region: Sinch MessageMedia
-
EU/US regions: Sinch Engage
New customers can now sign up for a Sinch MessageMedia trial account and start testing SMS for Dynamics by registering for a trial, generating your API keys from the Sinch MessageMedia platform and pasting these credentials into Dynamics to start using the app.
Existing customers can log in to the Sinch MessageMedia platform, generate your API keys and paste these credentials into Dynamics to start using the app.
Sinch SMS for Dynamics continues to support our NZ Carrier brands MutiTXT, eTXT and 2Degrees.

Version 1.8.9
Rebrand to Sinch SMS for Dynamics
Three years ago, MessageMedia joined forces with Sinch - a global leader in customer communications. This move helps us to bring even more meaningful conversations to life between businesses and their customers.
Since then, you’ve seen us evolve into Sinch MessageMedia, marking the start of an exciting journey.
Now, we’re taking the next step: SMS for Dynamics is becoming Sinch SMS for Dynamics.
You may have already noticed the new name and logo in Microsoft AppSource. In addition, you’ll also see updates within the product experience as we complete the transition.
Bug fixes and refinements
- Single, bulk SMS and workflows can now handle special characters in the message text.
- Resolved issue with Sender Id not displaying correctly in Bulk SMS.
- Resolved duplicate inbound banner notification on refresh issue.
- Bug fixes in Bulk SMS.
Version 1.8.8
Revamp of the Conversation Inbox UI
We’ve refreshed the conversation page user interface to better align with Dynamics and give it a more familiar, inbox-like experience - similar to what you’ll see in the Sinch platform. This update makes it easier to navigate and keeps your workflows consistent across platforms.
Previously the menu in the Conversations section was “All, read, unread, archived”. We've now updated this to Open and Closed.
Bug fixes and refinements
- Conversations inbox improvements:
- Auto load more content when scrolling up (right side of UI).
- Format of the date has been updated (right side of UI).
- Improved performance - when scrolling down in the contact box (left side of UI), it will trigger to get more conversations.
Version 1.8.7
Workflow Sender ID and User Support
Businesses with multiple Sender IDs on their account can choose which Sender ID or Alphatag (refer to the Sender IDs section for more details) will appear as the sender on the recipient's handset. Additionally, they can specify which user’s activity will be logged in the communication timeline when the message is received.
Custom entities outside of Accounts, Contacts and Leads are now supported
To leverage the new features:
- When add the SMS for Dynamics.Workflows, select Version 1.1.
- When setting the properties for the flow:
- Sender ID: Optional Field to enter the provisioned Dedicated number, Toll Free number or 10 DLC in E.164 international format (e.g. +614xxxxxxxx) so it appears on the phone as the sender. Shortcode in local format without the country code and alphanumeric sender IDs (formerly alpha tags) that have been provisioned can be entered without spaces. If this is left blank the sender ID will default to the Sinch MessageMedia account settings.
- From: Optional field to specify the user the message will be logged as from in the communication timeline, reply messages will be routed back to the user. This can be a dynamics field eg Lead Owner. If this is left blank the from references the user who triggered the workflow.
- ToNumber: Recipient mobile number field to receive the message.
- Message: This is where you create your message.
- Is Opt-Out?: To send to recipients who haven't opted out.
- CreateSMSRecord: To log the message. For Custom Entities, if CreateSMSRecord is set to True then creating a new activity must be enabled on the entity. Otherwise CreateSMSRecord must be set to False.
Bug fixes and refinements
- Missing Permission warning banner when sending user needs to have their Permissions updated to receive replies.
- Conversational UI performance improvements.
- Resolved duplicate inbound notifications issue.
- Resolved an issue with users sending to each other.
