Follow this Quick Start guide to install and set up the Sinch SMS SuiteApp.
Note: It's recommended to setup in a NetSuite Sandbox first, before installing into a NetSuite Production account.
1 | Enable NetSuite features
To enable NetSuite features:
- Log in to NetSuite using an Administrator role.
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Setup tab.
- Hover over Company and then click on Enable Features.
- Click on the SuiteCloud tab. Enable the following options:
- CLIENT SUITESCRIPT
- SERVER SUITESCRIPT
- SUITEFLOW
- TOKEN-BASED AUTHENTICATION
- CUSTOM RECORDS
- Click on the CRM tab. Enable the following options:
- CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND SERVICES
- Click on the Transactions tab. Enable the following options:
- ADVANCED SHIPPING
- PICK, PACK AND SHIP
Click on the Save button.
2 | Install the SuiteApp
To install the SuiteApp:
- In the top-navigation bar, click on SuiteApps tab.
- In the Search box, search for Sinch.
Click SMS for NetSuite by Sinch.
- Click on the Install button.
- Click Install again.
- Installation will be complete when the Sinch SMS tab shows in the top-navigation bar on your centre.
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Sinch SMS tab and then click Onboarding.
- Enter the password that your Sinch onboarding representative provides.
3 | Set up the API connections
To set up the API connections:
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Sinch SMS tab and on Preferences.
- Hover over Sinch API Credentials and click New.
- In the CREDENTIAL TYPE drop-down, select Global.
- In the API KEY FIELD insert the api_key from your Sinch onboarding representative.
- In the API SECRET FIELD, insert the api_secret from your Sinch onboarding representative.
- Click Save.
Create a new Sinch API credential for Workflow by repeating these steps (in the CREDENTIAL TYPE drop-drown, select Workflow).
4 | Enable Sinch Integrator Access
To enable the Sinch Integrator Access:
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Lists tab and click on Employees.
- Find your employee record and click Edit.
- Scroll down and click on the Access tab.
- Under the Roles section, add the Sinch Integrator (Managed) role.
Click Save.
5 | Set up the Webhook connections
To set up the Webhook connections:
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Setup tab and on Users/Roles.
- Hover over Access Tokens and click New.
- Configure the access token:
- APPLICATION NAME: Select MessageMedia Integration (Managed)
- USER: Select your employee record
- ROLE: Select Sinch Integrator
- TOKEN NAME: This will generate once you select the other options.
Click Save.
- The Token ID and Token Secret will now show. Save these in a safe place as you'll need to use these in the next steps.
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Sinch SMS tab and on Preferences.
Click on Sinch Webhook Config to open the list.
- Click on Edit next to the Receive an SMS (under SMS Event) to configure:
- RESTLET: Select Sinch RL - Reply Webhook
- TOKEN: Insert the Token ID from step 5
- TOKEN SECRET: Insert the Token Secret from step 5
- API KEY: Insert the api_key from your Sinch onboarding representative
API SECRET: Insert the api_secret from your Sinch onboarding representative
- Click Save.
- Navigate back to the list of Webhook configurations.
- Click on Edit next to the Receive an MMS (under SMS Event) to configure:
- RESTLET: Select Sinch RL - Reply Webhook
- TOKEN: Insert the Token ID from step 5
- TOKEN SECRET: Insert the Token Secret from step 5
- API KEY: Insert the api_key from your Sinch onboarding representative
- API SECRET: Insert the api_secret from your Sinch onboarding representative
- Click Save.
6 | Set up Sinch Preferences
To set up Sinch preferences:
- In the top-navigation bar, hover over the Sinch SMS tab and on Preferences.
- Click on Sinch - Preferences.
- Click on the New Sinch - Preferences button or click Edit next to an existing preferences record to configure:
- DEFAULT DIALLING COUNTRY: Select your country
- PHONE FIELDS: Select the best options for your business for all selection options
- DEFAULT EMAIL SENDER: Select an employee record for sending the email SMS reply confirmations from
Click Save.
