Once you've connected the Sinch Power Automate connector, you may want to add SMS as an action to your workflows. When you add your first action or trigger from the Sinch connector, you'll be asked for your API credentials - be sure to store these somewhere safe until you're prompted to enter them.
Add the Send Text Message (SMS) action to a workflow
- Log in and open Power Automate.
- From the left-side navigation, click on My flows.
- You can either create a New Flow or you can click on an existing workflow name and click on the pencil icon to edit.
- From within the flow, you can choose to add a trigger or choose where you want to add an action by clicking on the plus (+) icon.
- A pop-up screen will appear on the left. In the search box, type in "Sinch" and the Sinch connector will be listed as a premium connector.
-
Click on the Send Text Message (SMS) action.
- If you aren't already connected, you may be asked to enter your API credentials to connect to your Sinch MessageMedia account.
-
Configure the parameters in the Send Text Message (SMS) screen:
- Destination Number: Enter the recipient's mobile number in E.164 format.
- Message: Compose your message.
- Sender ID: Select a Sender ID from the drop-down menu - this will have synced across from your Sinch account. This will display as the FROM address on the mobile handset.
Note: When entering recipient phone numbers, don’t include spaces e.g. +61400111222 (not +61400 111 222). A space will be treated as if you're sending to multiple recipients.
- Once you've finished configuring your workflow, click on the Save icon. We recommend testing out your flow to make sure the SMS is sent and everything is set up properly.
SMS in Power Automate tips
Enter phone numbers without spaces e.g. +61400111222 (not +61400 111 222). Spaces are treated as separators for multiple recipients.
To send bulk SMS, separate each number with a space, comma, or period.
International messages are supported if your messaging provider allows it. Use E.164 format e.g.+61400111222.
Message credits vary depending on content length and number of recipients (character limits).
