Zoho CRM can automatically add new leads or contacts when you receive an SMS from a number that isn't already in your database.
Outbound communications: Send opt-in compliant messages to your existing leads and contacts.
Inbound communications: Publish your number online or in a directory so people can text you with enquiries.
When your records are up today, it's easy to track who is messaging you and why. If a new enquiry comes in from an unknown number, you can enable a setting that automatically creates a new lead or contact if the system can't match the number with an existing record. This way, every inbound message is captured and no opportunity is missed.
Create leads/contacts when an inbound message is received from an unknown number
- In the Zoho CRM, from the left-side navigation menu, click on the Marketplace module.
- Click on the Installed tab.
- Locate Sinch SMS for Zoho and click on Configure.
- Click on the Advanced Settings tab.
- Click on the Inbound Content tab.
In the Create leads/contacts when an inbound message is received from an unknown number drop-down, select Create a Lead or Create a Contact.
Note: To keep your contact database clean and accurate, we recommend choosing the Create a Lead option. This ensures new enquiries are tracked as leads, can be properly followed up and added to the right contact groups for more effective communications in the future.
- Click the Save button.
