This article explains how to send pre‑approved WhatsApp message templates directly from your inbox. If you need help choosing, personalizing, or sending WhatsApp templates to your contacts, you’re in the right place.
Before you get started, you'll need to make sure you have:
- Connected your Sinch MessageMedia account to your preferred social channels.
- Prepared and saved a social messaging template to use in your one-to-one message.
Sending WhatsApp templates
When you're in the inbox and ready to send a message to a contact, look for the composer and make sure you have your WhatsApp sender selected.

Open up the WhatsApp templates modal one of two ways:
a) Click the word "template" in the banner above the composer.
b) Select the template icon to the left of the smiley face icon at the bottom left of the composer. -
Once you've opened the modal, you may now choose from one of your pre-made WhatsApp templates:
a) Select the template name and the template language you would like to send.
b) To personalize this message to your customers, replace the message variables with contact fields from your selected audience or with the columns from your CSV file imported.
c) Check how the message looks like in the preview on the right side of the screen.
d) Click in the Send Message button to send your WhatsApp template.Congratulations, you've sent your first WhatsApp message from the inbox!
