In Australia and certain permitted countries in the EU, it's possible to use your own mobile number as a sender ID when sending messages from the Hub.
- It is possible for an account in any permitted country to use a mobile number from any other permitted country (as well as their own). E.g. a UK account can use an Australian mobile number, but not one from Iran.
Note: When using a personal mobile number, replies to messages will be sent directly to that handset, and will not appear in the Hub inbox.
Here's how to set it up:
Go to Settings > Numbers & Channels
Scroll down to the "My Mobile Numbers" section and click on "Add a mobile number"
Enter a nickname for the number you're adding (e.g. "John Smith's Mobile")
Before you can use your own number as a sender ID, you'll need to verify it via an authentication code that gets sent to your handset. Enter the mobile number in international format, and then click "Send code."
You should then receive a text message from MessageMedia containing a 6 digit code. Enter that into the last field and click "Save & verify mobile number."
Your number should then be ready for use.
