"Hmmmm. When was the last time I spoke to Jim...?"
To stay across the level of engagement you have with your contacts, it's helpful to be able to see at a glance when they last received a message from you, or you received one from them.
Here's how you can do that using a workflow:
1. Create a new Contact-based workflow
2. Set your enrollment trigger to:
- "SMS for HubSpot: SMS sent" after a certain date (e.g. today)
OR
- "SMS for HubSpot: SMS received" after a certain date (e.g. today)
Do this by selecting either "SMS for HubSpot: SMS sent" or "SMS for HubSpot: SMS received" as the enrollment trigger, then clicking on "Occurred" and selecting "is after" and then a date:
You can also add another trigger for inbound/outbound MMS by clicking on "OR" and then selecting the "SMS for HubSpot: MMS sent" or "SMS for HubSpot: MMS received" trigger:
3. Add an action to "Set property value"
4. Choose either "Last sent SMS" or "Last received SMS" depending on your triggers
5. Set the date as "Date of step"
6. Save and publish your workflow.
What happens next?
With both of these Sent/Received workflows in place, the "Last sent SMS" and "Last received SMS" fields on the contact record will update with the date that the last SMS was sent/received. Now you can easily see how long it's beed since you've had any contact with your contacts.
