Workflows can be used to better communicate with customers by automatically sending SMS messages from within Dynamics 365. You can add the SMS action in new and existing workflows as soon as the SMS for Dynamics solution is installed in your organization.
If you haven't installed SMS for Dynamics yet, this article can help you do that. Once that's sorted, let's take a look at how to add SMS to your workflows:
1. Open Dynamics 365 and go to Processes, then you can either create a New workflow (process), or you can click on an existing Process Name:
2. From within the process, click on the Add Step dropdown arrow, select SMS for Dynamics.Workflows (1.0.0.0), then click on SMSForDynamics.Workflows.SendSMS:
2. Then click on Set Properties:
3. Now you need to set the Value for the ToNumber property as {Mobile Phone(Contact)}, and you can do this over on the right under where it says Dynamic Values. Then type your message into the Message Value field, and don't forget to select True for the CreateSMSRecord property to create a record of SMS activity:
4. Then click Save and Close on the top left to add the SMS action to your workflow.
