TLS - end of support August 1, 2022

On August 1, 2022 we will be ending support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 which may have an impact on your use of the MessageMedia REST and SOAP APIs.

Which API endpoints are being impacted?

The following REST and SOAP API endpoints are those being affected by this change:

• soap.messagemedia.com
• xml.messagemedia.com
• api.messagemedia.com
• precise.messagemedia.com

What is TLS?

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a cryptographic protocol designed to provide communications security over a computer network, replacing the now defunct SSL (Secure Socket Layers) protocol back in 2014 after the Google Security team detected a major security flaw in SSL 3.0.

Which operating systems support TLS 1.2?

Several common operating systems support TLS 1.2 or higher straight out of the box, including:

• Windows 8.1

• Windows Server 2012 R2

• Windows 10

• Windows Server 2016 and later versions

• Mac OS X v10.9-10.12 (Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, and Sierra) or later

• Safari v7 or later

• All cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud Computing)
