The Send SMS button on an Opportunity allows a message to be sent to a single phone field on the Opportunity record or to the Opportunity's Contact Roles.
Opportunity
Sending
1. From an Opportunity record, select the Send SMS button - if the button is missing, see this article.
2. In the Send SMS screen, select the desired Opportunity phone field from the Send to drop-down.
3. When an Opportunity field is selected as the Send to number, the Contact Roles section will be hidden.
4. Populate the remaining fields and send the message as usual - for detailed instructions, see this article.
Logging
Outbound messages and replies to messages sent to a single Opportunity phone field are stored in the activity history of the Opportunity record, but not the Contact.
Contact Roles
Sending
1. In the Send SMS screen select the desired Contact phone field from the the Send to drop-down.
2. The Contact Roles section will display below.
3. Select the Contact Roles to include - each Contact will receive a separate message.
4. Populate the remaining fields and send the message as usual - for detailed instructions, see this article.
Logging
Outbound messages and replies to messages sent to Contact Roles on an Opportunity are stored in the activity history of both the Contact records and the Opportunity record.
