You can send an individual SMS message to any phone field* on both standard and custom objects.**
There are two ways to send a message to an individual recipient:
Instructions

4. SMS Template - optionally, select a template to populate the message automatically.
5. Merge Fields - optionally, add merge fields to your message by first selecting the Field type (merge object), then Merge field.
Composing and Sending
6. Message Content - adjust or compose your message from scratch.
7. Character Count - character count and how many credits will be used for the message.
8. Send - send the message immediately.

Important Notes
-
*Phone fields must be valid (see this article)
-
**Custom Objects must have "Allow activities" enabled (see this Salesforce article)
-
The Sender ID will always default to the most recently used selection. For example, if you choose "Alpha Tag" to send a message, Mercury will default to this selection the next time you message the recipient.
- If you'd like to use Alpha Tags, they need to be approved on your MessageMedia account first - otherwise the option won't work in Mercury. Note Alpha Tags are not available in the US.
- If you already have multiple Sender IDs for your account they will automatically be visible in the dropdown box. If you don't have additional Sender IDs but would like them, please set this up in the MessageMedia Hub or submit a request to our support team for assistance.
