While it is possible to send messages to New Zealand from the MessageMedia: SMS Marketing App, there is a legal requirement to utilise a dedicated New Zealand "short code" in order to do so when sending marketing messages. Messages to New Zealand are therefore blocked by default unless a required short code is being used.
If your recipient includes a mix of numbers that includes some from NZ, then only the NZ-bound messages will be blocked until a dedicated short code has been procured for your account.
How to obtain a dedicated NZ shortcode
Contact sales@messagemedia.com mentioning the following:
- You are using "MessageMedia's app for Shopify - MessageMedia: SMS Marketing"
- You are interested in/you have a need to send messages to New Zealand numbers
- You have questions about procuring a dedicated short code
