Contact lists can be used to categorise and group your contacts, and also make it easier to send bulk messages
To manage your contact groups go to Contacts > Lists:
If you have existing contact groups, you will see a table that contains the following columns:
- List name
- Total Contacts - total number of contacts in the group
- Unsubscribed Contacts - number of unsubscribed contacts in the group
- Group Email - this is an alias used when sending SMS messages via email (see the Email to SMS article for more info)
- Shared By/Shared With - if the group is a shared group the field will be populated with the sub-account names
To create a new contact group, click on New List:
In the resulting modal, give your group a name and an alias (optional) and click Save. The alias is used for the Email to SMS address:
Editing a contact list
To edit a contact group, simply click on the three dots in the relevant row in the contact group screen and click on Edit:
From this menu, you can also send a message to the contact group, share it with sub-accounts, or delete the contact group.
Using contact lists on Sinch MessageMedia mobile application
Once you added or updated your contact lists in the web version, you can access them via our mobile application.
The last 5 recently added lists will be displayed as recommendations on the Aggregated Mobile Contacts screen.
To start a conversation with your list on the mobile application, use the 'Start Chat' option as shown below.
