How to create a Birthday/Anniversary workflow
To create a workflow to send an SMS to a specific contact in relation to an anniversary or birthday, follow these simple steps:
Start by creating a property for the significant date (e.g. Birthdate) as follows:
- Go to Settings
- Click on Properties
- Click on Create Property
In the slide-out menu, set the parameters as follows and click Next:
Then, choose the field type (date picker) and click Create.
Now it's time to create your workflow...
Start by going to Automation, then Workflows, and then Create Workflow:
Follow these steps:
- Select Contact-based
- Name your workflow - e.g. "Happy Birthday SMS"
- Select Center on a date property
- Choose your new Birth Date field
- Click Next
Set the Enrollment Trigger as follows:
Filter Type = Contact Properties
Contact Property = Lifecycle Stage
Condition = Customer
Click Apply filter, and then click on the re-enrollment tab.
Tick the "Allow contacts...." box, as well as the "Lifecycle Stage..." box and then click Save
Click on the Specify a Date step, and in the slide-out menu tick the box next to Recur annually, and then click Save
Click the "+" icon to create a new action, and select MessageMedia SMS from the menu on the right hand side, and enter your message:
